Summary

Discovered in the attic in which she spent the last years of her life, Anne Frank’s remarkable diary has become a world classic—a powerful reminder of the horrors of war and an eloquent testament to the human spirit。

In 1942, with the Nazis occupying Holland, a thirteen-year-old Jewish girl and her family fled their home in Amsterdam and went into hiding。 For the next two years, until their whereabouts were betrayed to the Gestapo, the Franks and another family lived cloistered in the “Secret Annexe” of an old office building。 Cut off from the outside world, they faced hunger, boredom, the constant cruelties of living in confined quarters, and the ever-present threat of discovery and death。 In her diary Anne Frank recorded vivid impressions of her experiences during this period。 By turns thoughtful, moving, and surprisingly humorous, her account offers a fascinating commentary on human courage and frailty and a compelling self-portrait of a sensitive and spirited young woman whose promise was tragically cut short。

Anne Frank: The Diary Of A Young Girl is the real diary of a teenage girl that begins on Anne’s 13th birthday (12 June 1942) when she gets a diary。 It tells the story of her family who lives in Frankfurt, Germany, and suddenly have to go into hiding as a result of Hitler and the Nazi Party’s treatment of Jews in Europe during the second world war。 They escape to Amsterdam where they go into hiding with other Jews。 The diary ends suddenly on 1 August 1944。There are many important messages in this Anne Frank: The Diary Of A Young Girl is the real diary of a teenage girl that begins on Anne’s 13th birthday (12 June 1942) when she gets a diary。 It tells the story of her family who lives in Frankfurt, Germany, and suddenly have to go into hiding as a result of Hitler and the Nazi Party’s treatment of Jews in Europe during the second world war。 They escape to Amsterdam where they go into hiding with other Jews。 The diary ends suddenly on 1 August 1944。There are many important messages in this book, but the most important message is that all people have the right to live in freedom。 Anne’s story shows us that just because people may be of a different religion or race, doesn’t mean that they should be treated differently。 The terrible treatment of Jewish people during the war has shown this。 Her diary shows us things that people don’t think about now, for example how every day the people in hiding worried about maybe being found and punished。 。。。more

TBH i had to read this book for school and i didn’t expect to like it 。 Even if this is not my usual cup of tea i enjoyed it because of the information provided in it 。 With that said i got a little bored of the book because of the routine that it had developed, that’s why i gave it 3 stars in the end 。

I read this story at the beginning of the pandemic。 I felt connected with her experience。 It’s very tragedy she couldn’t make until the end of the war。

The Diary of a Young Girl, also known as The Diary of Anne Frank, is a book of the writings from the Dutch language diary kept by Anne Frank while she was in hiding for two years with her family during the Nazi occupation of the Netherlands。 The family was apprehended in 1944, and Anne Frank died of typhus in the Bergen-Belsen concentration camp in 1945。

My intention of writing a review for this book is to tell all the negative reviewers to SHUT UP! I am all for everyone's right to express their opinion but I read a few of the '1 star' reviews and I was shocked to read what a few people had to say about this book。 Before making an opinion I suggest people to keep a few things in mind。It is amazing and really loved in My intention of writing a review for this book is to tell all the negative reviewers to SHUT UP!

Anne Frank does an amazing job writing her diary in a way that's funny, explanatory and the reader can relate to her in some parts。 It's impressing how a thirteen year old girl has a deep understanding of life and her historical context, she's really mature for her age。 I recommend this book very much, it makes you appreciate life more and gives you an insight of what she lived as a Jewish girl during WWII。 Anne Frank does an amazing job writing her diary in a way that's funny, explanatory and the reader can relate to her in some parts。 It's impressing how a thirteen year old girl has a deep understanding of life and her historical context, she's really mature for her age。 I recommend this book very much, it makes you appreciate life more and gives you an insight of what she lived as a Jewish girl during WWII。 。。。more

”I want to go on living even after my death! And therefore I am grateful to God for giving me this gift, this possibility of developing myself and of writing, of expressing all that is me。” (Page。 197)Anne Frank was an ordinary teenage girl when the world started to crumble around her。 War, starvation, anti-semitism, murders and deportations were constant threats and unavoidable in her every day life。 And yet her personality, humor and optimistic character shine through in her beloved diary。 She viewed her diary as her one true friend which she could completely confide in and open up to。 Little did she know that she would befriend the entire world as her diary reached publicity and caused long chains of emotion, understanding and grief to reverberate around the globe。 Her dream of living after her death came true, even though she died way too young at 16 years of age。 Anne Frank’s diary shows the reader that she was like anyone else, just like you and me。 The way one can relate to her feelings and perceptions of the world, oneself and one’s family is overwhelming in the sense that she embodies all the lost voices during the Holocaust。 She makes us remember that the 6 million Jews who lost their lives during the Holocaust was separate individuals with their own stories, emotions, thoughts and lives。 The complexity of one person’s character is truly depicted in her words and one must consider that 6 million is not meerely a number, but a tremendous loss of human lives。 Being so affected and touched by Anne’s words, I wonder about all the other stories which weren’t published and shared with the world。 All the other human beings who were deprived of a free life in peace。 The Holocaust is part of mankind’s darkest history and only when we remember our past are we able to look at the future with a sense of hope, equality and change。 Stories just like Anne Frank’s remind us how cruel humankind can be and how incredably important it is that we fight for freedom, peace and every person’s right to experience and walk through life。 。。。more

I read this a long time ago, maybe I need to pick it up again to reread。 I realize it might seem strange to rate this anything but 5 stars, but for me, at the age I read this, I just wasn't ready to handle the topics discussed in it。 Which is ironic, considering Frank herself was younger than me when she wrote it。 This is rated low because my sheltered self couldn't handle it。 Knowing that the girl that wrote this died in a concentration camp, this girl with such a romantic mind and a wonderful I read this a long time ago, maybe I need to pick it up again to reread。 I realize it might seem strange to rate this anything but 5 stars, but for me, at the age I read this, I just wasn't ready to handle the topics discussed in it。 Which is ironic, considering Frank herself was younger than me when she wrote it。 This is rated low because my sheltered self couldn't handle it。 Knowing that the girl that wrote this died in a concentration camp, this girl with such a romantic mind and a wonderful soul, is incomprehensible to me。So for me, this gets two stars, because that means "it was okay"。 I would almost find it inappropriate to say that I "liked it" which corresponds to three stars。 How anyone can be anything but supremely disturbed by this book, I will never understand。 This book is a cemetery。 。。。more

Anne Frank was a teenager when she wrote her diary。 Didn't many of the girls write diaries when they were 12 - 14 years old? So what's so special about Anne? She was a Jew。 She was a Jew in 1942 - 1944。 The years that were the most difficult for the Jews around the world。 From the first site this would be a regular young girls diary - disputes with parents, first encounters with boys, dreams about the future。 It's just that all her family is in hiding, trying to survive holocaust。 It's quite unn Anne Frank was a teenager when she wrote her diary。 Didn't many of the girls write diaries when they were 12 - 14 years old? Thinking, re-thinking and discussing about my own motherhood。 What kind of mother I want to be? What should I do so that my own daughters would not end up hating me。Three words about the bookNot an ordinary diary 。。。more

The first time I read this was in 8th grade English。 So many years later and this treasure still left me feeling。。。what exactly, I'm not sure。 Over two years, Anne grew in many ways。 Her relationship with her family always seemed a bit rocky。 Except with her dad。 I often would try to imagine the scene and what happened after Anne closed her diary for the day。 Would she sit and think until called away?
